Summary

Westview and Oakland City sit right next to each other in southwest Atlanta, just west and south of West End along the BeltLine Westside Trail. Westview is an old streetcar suburb (1910s to 1930s) built around Westview Cemetery. It’s full of Craftsman bungalows, Four-Squares, and Tudors, and a lot of them are mid-renovation after about a decade of money flowing in. Oakland City is a little rougher around the edges, more car-dependent in spots, but it’s got its own MARTA station and Lee + White is right on its northern edge.

The pitch is pretty simple. You come here if you want a porch and a yard, intown bungalow character, the BeltLine, and rents or prices about 15 to 25% under West End. You should know going in that displacement tension is real and active, retail is patchy (one little natural grocer in Westview, bigger anchors a short drive north), and the street-by-street variation is wild. A renovated $2,200 three-bedroom can sit two doors from a boarded-up house. It’s a great fit if you’re okay driving or hopping on MARTA for groceries and you want to live somewhere that’s actively becoming itself instead of already finished.
